The Research Review Journal of Cultural Heritage and Traditions (RRJCHT) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, originality, and ethical publishing. In alignment with the UGC (Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2018, RRJCHT follows a strict and transparent policy to prevent plagiarism and ensure the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in manuscript preparation.

Plagiarism Policy (Acceptable Similarity Index: 10% or below)

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism refers to presenting another person’s ideas, words, data, or creative expressions as one’s own without proper citation or acknowledgment. This includes:

  • Copying text, figures, tables, or data without citation
  • Reusing previously published work (self-plagiarism) without disclosure
  • Using online or print sources without proper attribution

Types of Plagiarism

  • Direct Plagiarism: Word-for-word copying without quotation marks or citation
  • Self-Plagiarism: Reusing one's own published work without proper reference
  • Mosaic Plagiarism: Combining content from multiple sources without adequate credit
  • Accidental Plagiarism: Unintentional failure to cite or paraphrase properly

Detection and Prevention

Pre-Publication Screening: All manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin or similar tools). Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable similarity limit of 10% (excluding references and properly cited quotations) will be returned to authors for revision.

During Peer Review: Editors and reviewers may identify potential plagiarism. Authors will be required to clarify, revise, or provide proper citations.

Post-Publication Action: If plagiarism is discovered after publication, appropriate action will be taken, including:

  • Retraction of the article
  • Publication of a correction or plagiarism notice
  • Notification to the author’s affiliated institution or funding agency

Reporting Plagiarism: Any concerns regarding plagiarism may be reported to: editor@rrjcht.in

AI Policy (Maximum Acceptable AI-Generated Content: 15%)

Use of AI Tools in Manuscript Preparation

Authors may use AI-based tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, or similar technologies) only as supportive writing aids under the following conditions:

Transparency

  • Authors must clearly disclose the use of AI tools in the Acknowledgment or Methods section of the manuscript, specifying:
    • The name of the tool used
    • The purpose (e.g., grammar correction, language refinement, structural suggestions)

Authorship and Accountability

  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors
  • Authors remain fully responsible for all content, including sections generated or edited using AI tools

Originality and Verification

  • AI-generated content must not contain plagiarized material
  • Authors must carefully review, verify, and fact-check all AI-assisted content before submission

Ethical Use

AI tools should assist in improving language and clarity but must not replace original thinking, research design, data analysis, or intellectual contribution. The academic integrity and scholarly contribution must originate from the authors.

Commitment to Academic Integrity

By implementing this Plagiarism and AI Policy, RRJCHT reaffirms its dedication to publishing ethical, original, and high-quality research. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to strictly adhere to these principles.
